Speakpad is built to keep what you say private. This page explains exactly what the app and this website do with your information.

Your voice

Speakpad only listens while you hold the dictation key. The audio is turned into text on your own Mac and then discarded. Your audio is never uploaded, stored on our servers, or used to train anything.

Optional AI polish

If you turn on AI polish and add your own Anthropic API key, the text of each dictation (never the audio) is sent directly from your Mac to Anthropic to be cleaned up. That request is covered by your own agreement with Anthropic and Anthropic's privacy policy. Your API key is stored in your Mac's Keychain and is never sent to us.

Purchases and license keys

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. When you buy, Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address and order details so we can deliver your license and provide support. We never see your full card details.

When you activate a license, Speakpad sends your license key and your Mac's name to Lemon Squeezy's license service to confirm the key is valid. It checks the key again occasionally when the app starts.

The app on your Mac

Speakpad stores its settings, your trial start date and your license on your Mac. It downloads its speech model once from Hugging Face, which hosts the model files. Speakpad contains no analytics, ads or tracking.

This website

This website does not use cookies or analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of delivering them.

Your choices

You can stop using AI polish at any time in Speakpad's settings. To ask what information we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email kcopelandracing@gmail.com.
